Scott & Leona: The main event.
As you may have seen from the last post re: Photobooth, I had the great honour of joining Scott & Leona at their Northampton country house hotel to photograph their wedding a couple of weeks ago.
It was a lovely get together for the new bigger family: most of the guests had to travel a long way and it appears that they filled the entire hotel on the Friday night in order to get to know each other and start the celebrations early. The hotel itself, Highgate House, is in a lovely little village north of Northampton called Creaton and has some fantastic baronial architecture as well as some lovely grounds.
The morning of the big day started brightly, and the bridal party all had matching dressing gowns with their title on the back for the morning preparations, apart from the gorgeous little flower girl - who you may spot in a couple of pictures - who had lovely pink pyjamas.
The hair and make-up ladies had a mammoth task - they managed to get through (I think - I lost count) 14 - yes 14 ladies' hair and makeup throughout the morning, the bridal suite was rather busy..... and I managed not to knock anything over trying to keep out of the way!
The weather had looked a little inclement as the morning wore on and we did spot a few moments of drizzle here and there, but it cleared up after the ceremony in time for us to get outside and enjoy the grounds. The kids had a great time running up and down the giant lawns and we found some apple trees at the far end that looked good enough to eat!! (The apples, not the trees you understand)
You might have seen in the Photobooth post, that they had not one, but two cakes and that the second one was a cheesecake. Not a cheesecake cheesecake, oh no. A giant tiered cake made of wheels of cheese!! Looked and tasted stunning. Then it was time to get the Photobooth up and running after the first dance had started, and the partying continued long into the night.....
Below you'll see a selection of photographs from their day, enough to hopefully give you an idea of what a great time was had by all - not least by Scott & Leona. Thanks guys, it was an honour and a pleasure to share your big day with you,
Matt
