Hana and Ian got married!! And it was great!!!
This weekend I had the great pleasure of joining Hana and Ian to record their special day. Despite the tail end of Hurricane Bertha threatening to cast a damp shadow on all outdoor activities on Saturday, North Kent decided to brave it out and retain the blue skies and lovely sunshine until the hours of dancing had started to wane.
The setting was the magnificent Westenhanger Castle which is a beautiful place for a wedding. The main house has been restored to an earlier glory and is solely put aside for the bridal party to prepare in. A large bedroom, huge bathroom and spacious central landing take up the first floor, with views into the moat, across the grounds to the full size galleon - and out across the front and sides. It's a great venue for a wedding as it's tucked away and very peaceful - and as each wedding there takes up the full site, you have the place to yourselves. The grounds themselves hold the large wooden arbour in which the ceremony to takes place, with lots of wooden benches on the grass for seating too. There is also a permanent marquee for dining, dancing, drinking and general merriment to take place in as well.
We had a lovely chilled morning with Hana and her party as they prepared, and the guests arrived just after lunch for the ceremony in the garden. Hana looked beautiful in her long white dress and Jimmy Choo's and Ian looked quite dashing in a blue 3 piece suit too. It was a lovely ceremony with a beautiful poem read by a close friend, followed by a relaxed afternoon with drinks before dinner and dancing.
The music was provided by the outstanding Groove Instinct who are well worth a listen and dance to. They got people up on the dance floor and kept them there all night, which was just as well as people came from all over the world to be here, and dance they did!!
My thanks to Steve and Dani at Westenhanger and most of all to Hana and Ian!
I've added a few pictures below to give you a flavour of their day. Enjoy!!
