....and crikey, it was a wonderful, intimate and very windy day!!
Last week I was honoured to join Kessia and Matt for their wedding celebrations, starting the day in a very blustery and a little chilly (but dry!) Eastbourne in East Sussex and then on to Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
As well as extended family and friends, they were joined by their young family who as you can see from the pictures - were very keen to be involved in all that was going on. Their eldest son was the ring bearer and their youngest decided to join them for the ceremony :)
We started off the day at the 130 year old Eastbourne Town Hall for an intimate service in the Mayor's Parlour, where as well as their vows they exchanged the rings that they helped make themselves a few weeks ago, each finishing each others off - what a wonderful, lovely and personal touch. We then left - passing through an honour guard of bubbles (a good choice I think, as confetti would have blown around all over the place) and headed south to the seafront. We were hoping for the rain to hold off - which it did but it did remain a bit windy for us all to contend with. A couple of dogs also made cameo appearances - a little Jack Russell scampered out onto a window sill to see what all the noise was about as we walked from the Town Hall, and a family friend - a large Labradoodle (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten...) - joined us on the bandstand for champagne and nibbles.
After they'd all had some nibbles and champagne, and the kids had danced around a bit in the bandstand - many thanks to Eastbourne Bandstand for opening up and allowing us to photograph in there - we moved on to Tunbridge Wells for an afternoon wedding breakfast at a lovely place to eat and spend some time, Juliets. After some great food and a couple of speeches, we popped outside and revisited some of Kessia and Matt's old haunts around town for some more pictures.
Luckily, the rain held off all day and a good time was had by all.
So thanks Kessia and Matt, it was a lovely day and a great celebratory start to your married life :)
