.....and it was a wonderful day!!!
The location for this happy event was South Farm, Royston near Cambridge - with the preparation, ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception all held on the one site. If you haven't heard of the place before, it is a beautiful farm setting, making use of the Farmhouse, the grounds and the converted barns to host fantastic events such as this. As well as the caravans in which guests can stay (a couple of which make an entrance below) guests can also stay in some of the rooms in the house, in the bridal suite or can even camp onsite. The farm has pigs, chickens and other small farm animals roving around - in areas accessible and visible to all the days proceedings - as well as extensive kitchen garden vegetable plots.
Although the day was a little grey and chilly, the worst of the wind and all of the rain held off, and lots of outdoor fun was had. As you can see from the photographs, it's set in a beautiful and peaceful rural location and with the exclusive use of the site, it felt as if we were the only people for miles around. And so on we went. The wedding ceremony was held in The Old Dairy before moving across the courtyard to the Tudor Barn for the afternoon and evening events. There was laughing (a lot), drinking, dancing, eating, drinking, a bit more dancing, a photo-booth and even a night-time ride in a Tuk-Tuk for those who felt brave enough. A really great day :)
I also need to mention the events team at South Farm - managed by the ever-present and effervescent Alli - who were really at the top of their game on the day. It makes a huge difference to the day's atmosphere (and therefore photography) when the team behind the scenes are as professional as this - it certainly made my life as a busy photographer a lot easier.
Thank-you Karim and Alice for letting me be a part of your big day, as always it was a great honour.
